Mary was born November 19, 1942 in California to Rev. Floyd and Violet Benback. She attended high school in Mandan ND, where she met and married Isaac N. Steen Jr. on September 13, 1958. They traveled in their early years, while Ike's work as a heavy crane operator took them too many states. In 1975 they began a new chapter of their life and dedicated their life to the Lord. They were baptized together and strove to live their life honorably before the Lord. Ike and Mary were married for 35 years and had 3 children.

In 1975 they moved to Bismarck ND and Mary became a Realtor/Broker. They eventually started their own Real Estate Agency, Faith Realty. In 1988 they launched "Software & Systems". They operated their businesses with integrity and pride, which resulted in the beginning of many new friendships. Together they enjoyed reading, painting, motorcycling, traveling and spending time with family and friends. In June 1994 Ike died of cancer at the age of 54.

In 1995 Mary and Edward Geditz were married and resided in Port Orchard WA, where Mary continued in her Real Estate career until her retirement in 2006. They enjoyed spending time with friends, their dogs and traveling in their motor home. They shared 13 years of love and companionship.

Mary trusted and loved the Lord as her Savior and it was evident in her life. She had a sweet, kind, loving spirit with a servant's heart. Her father, as a minister, had instilled a deep sense of faith in her and this strong faith brought her much joy and carried her through many trials in life. She taught Bible Studies and Sunday School for years and always tried to be a witness for the Lord. Relationships were important to her and she was a true blessing to everyone who knew her. Mary lived life with excellence and whatever she did she put her whole heart, soul and energy into it. Her children and grand children will be forever grateful for the loving life and faith she gave them.
